London Airport Information

London is served by at least five airports. To the south is Gatwick, to the west is Heathrow, to the north east is Stansted, to the north west is Luton, and centrally there is a smaller business commuting airport -"City" . I have overheard Americans arguing while they travel on a bus linking Gatwick to Heathrow that they were going to miss a plane because they assumed London had one airport! Take care.

Airports
Heathrow - (LHR) Piccadilly line stops at all terminals. 45 minutes from central London. Airbus departs from Victoria Station and Russell Square.
Heathrow Express leaves Paddington every 15 minutes with fares on the train or ticket office. Transport Information Tel 0171 222 1234; Flight information Tel 0181 759 4321

Luton Airport (LTN) Thameslink trains from Kings Cross to Luton about 45 minutes. Alternative is Greenline 757 coach service. Service runs up to every half hour throughout the day. No service between 0136 and 0500. This leaves stop 6 near Victoria coach station in Buckingham Palace Road, Hyde Park corner, Marble Arch (exit 4 from the pedestrian subway near Oxford Street underground), Stop S from Gloucester Road near the junction with Marylebone Road, Stop U on Finchley Road near Canfield Gardens, and Brent Cross near Tesco. Readers Tip On a trip to London I used a new service from Heathrow to book a car to go to Twickenham called airlinecabs.com. “You now can find out in advance what the cost of a taxi is on line for a specific journey . Great, and well worth the visit.”
