Visit Rob Roy' Grave, visit the Wallace Monument raised in honour to Sir William Wallace the hero known as Braveheart, and see the site of his greatest battle. Visit Stirling castle scene of many great historic events or Doune Castle where scenes for Monty Python's Holy Grail movie shot. The area abounds in beautiful lochs, rivers and mountains, enjoy the forests, glens and moors, eat in cosy pubs and try the many original beers including Heather Ale, or alternatively visit one of the many distilleries and sample the whiskies, malt or blended. Try hill walking, pony trekking, mountain biking, canoeing or just sit and enjoy the peace or do a little fishing. |
