Sunday Times: Reselling Timeshare Tips
The Sunday Times, 16 February, 1997
When selling second-hand timeshare holiday weeks, the following points can help you avoid expensive pitfalls:
- Use a long established resale agency.
- Ask a realistic selling price, normally between 20% and 50% of the developer's current price.
- Register with several agencies, if you must, but avoid dubious small operations.
- Make sure maintenance fees and any other expenses connected with your timeshare are paid up.
- If the agency fails, sometimes the developer will help you sell your weeks, particularly if he is no longer selling new weeks on the resort. Alternatively you can try to sell it privately.
