Tenerife is an island of contrast, from the north which attracts a higher rainfall and consequently has lusher vegetation, to the south which is drier and the place which has seen a holiday makers explosion over the past 40 years. This is an arial view of Los Cristianos, a 10 minute bus ride from the airport.
The view looks towards Playa de las Americas. This one-time sleepy fishing village has expanded with the tourists, but it still has a good beach to offer. If lucky, you may see dolphins in boat rides that take you along the coast, and operate from the harbour. From Los Cristianos you can walk along the promenade to Playa de las Americas, a cosmopolitan area which in its central area has a busy night life. There are several time share resorts situated in Los Cristianos.
