Buying Timeshare in Tenerife

There are over 50 Timeshare Resorts in Tenerife, and they are all very different.

If you have decided to buy a Timeshare in Tenerife first of all decide what you are looking for. If you want to use it primarily to return to Tenerife initially price should not be the prime factor affecting your decision.

The Resort should fit your requirements, be of a good standard and be well run. Trawling the bulletin boards can give a false impression of the costs. A high season week, in a well located apartment in a good complex may not be as cheap as people suggest. Whereas the opposite can be picked up for a song. If you only want a bed to sleep in, you can pick up weeks for £500, whereas a two bed, sea view, school holiday week in a resort like Hollywood Mirage could set you back 10x as much. I have stayed there and the accomodation was brilliant. But it is up a hill and away from the shops. It all depends on what you need, make that decision first, and save yourself a lot of time and money. El Marques is another well run and beautifully kept resort, but its drawback, if any, is steps.

Beverly Hills Club is a great resort, especially for an English family. There is a website run in conjunction with the on site resale agents, that offers promotional visits. It is quite informative. If you go down the private purchase road or want to buy from a UK resale company, heed any advice you find, and look on the timeshare owner chat and sale noticeboards .

Try to stay at a resort before you buy - there are often people prepared to rent their week out to you. Do speak, to other owners or guests before buying.
