Worried About an Offer?
Here is some advice from an Owners Association at one of Spain's top timeshare resorts
" Information has been received from Trading Standards Agencies and the Police - that owners of timeshare are being targetted by bogus individuals who make promises that are too good to be true. Cases are under investigation where owners are offered opportunities to sell their weeks for the prices that they originally paid - and in some cases they even offer to refund Management Fees! "To avail yourself of this wonderful opportunity all you have to do is send 200 ukPounds plus - and all will be refunded!"
For owners who wish to dispose of their weeks, the following advice is made:
- Avoid paying anything "up-front" to anyone you know little or nothing about.
- In Timeshare deal only with known companies who are registered with the Timeshare Council.
- In case of doubt always obtain further advice by speaking to your local Trading Standards Agency, or the Owners Committee Members.
- Remain vigilent - do not rush into promises that are too good to be true- they often are!
